The 5082 adds up to 16 disk units and attaches to the system via a 1063Mbps optical link. A total of 32 disk units are possible with the addition of #5052 Storage Expansion Tower. #5082 includes a 1063Mbps optical bus card, various cables (including an optical cable), two SPD card slots, space for 16 disk units, one battery backup (#9245), one 400 watt base power supply (#9240), one 400 watt power supply (#9243) and one I/O regulator. #5082 can be specified as an alternative to #5072. The two SPD card slots may only be used for adding disk unit IOPs (#6502, #6512 or #6530). Single byte disk units are not supported in this feature. The line cord supplied will be the same as specified for the system unit.
